Ingredients

  • 670 g ( 1.5 lb) cocktail sausages frozen or fresh
  • 3 tablespoon runny honey
  • 3 tablespoon wholegrain mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

To Cook In The Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 200˚C / 180˚ Fan / 390˚ F .
  • Arrange the sausages in a single layer on a baking tray. You may want to line the tray with parchment paper or aluminium foil for easy cleanup. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • Drain away any excess fat released from the sausages and discard.
  • In a small bowl, combine the honey, wholegrain mustard & salt. Stir everything together until you have a smooth and well-blended glaze.
  • Take the sausages out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over them, and gently mix with a wooden spoon until all the sausages are completely coated in the glaze.
  • Return to the oven for a further 15 minutes, turning once until the sausages become caramelized.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving. You can provide toothpicks or cocktail sticks for easy nibbling.

To Cook In The Air Fryer

  • Preheat the air fryer to 180˚C / 355˚F.
  • Once it's ready, place the sausages into the air fryer basket.Cook the sausages for 5 minutes.
  • While they cook, prepare the glaze following the standard recipe.
  • After the initial 5 minutes, remove the sausages from the air fryer.
  • Pour the honey and mustard glaze over the sausages and stir to coat them thoroughly.
  • Return the sausages to the air fryer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing them to caramelize.
  • Remember to give the sausages a good shake halfway through the cooking time.

Notes

Tips & Tricks
  • Depending on how much fat is released from the sausages in the first stage of cooking, you may want to drain this away and discard it. This in turn will help the sticky glaze attach itself better to the sausages.
  • If you don’t have non stick baking trays or just don't want the hassle of clearing up, you can line the baking sheet with either baking parchment or aluminium foil, Another option is to cook the sausages in a disposable foil tray.
  • If you are using the air fryer to cook the sausages, I recommend using an air fryer liner to minimise clear up.
  • Give the glazed sausages a good stir halfway through cooking to make sure the sticky marinade has coated all of the sausages.
  • Pack any leftover sausages for a picnic or in the kid's lunchboxes for a tasty lunch treat.
